Travel Assignment #3: Life in New France

Dear Mr.Peabody

I am now in New France and there are long strips of land used for farming called
seigneurial systems. and there are also people living on these seigneurial systems called habitants which had to pay rent and had a corvee to be payed to the seigneur. the seigneurs would divide up the land into strips and called them seigneurial systems. the seigneurs would get work done because the habitants had a corvee and so the roads and buildings got built. the different roles of the soverign council were the governor intendant and the bishop of quebec
