the types of people that were infolved in the fur trade were the french, british, metis and first naitons. the people who got the iron goods to the first nations were coueur de bois who's name litterally means "runners of the woods and the voyageur who got the iron goods to the first nations by going on the rivers in canoes. the difference between a coureur de bois and a voyageur. the coureur de bois were french and instead of using a canoe and going on the lakes they ran through the trees hence the name runners of the woods. the voyageur instead of running through the woods to every first nations fort they go on longer trips on the lakes deeper into the forests to collect the furs. the metis were the offsping of ether scottish or french and first nations having sexual intercourse. the role of the metis was to be the guides, interpreters, freighters, provisioners and traders. people say that the fur trade built Canada because columbis didnt want to try to find a new pass to asia he wouldnt have gone to the west and have stumbled across the new world and he also wouldnt have found all the fish in the water that they would salt and sell to back to France. then he wouldnt have seen the first nations walking along the beach and wouldnt have sold the iron pots and knives to the first nations in extange for fur. so to sum it all up if columbis didnt go west to find the new world he wouldnt have seen the first nations and wouldnt have sold them the iron goods there would be no canada. My impression of this type of life is tiring all the boating and dont get me wrong i love the water but boating from France to Canada all the time would just get anoying. i would not like a career like the fur traders because i would not like to be a coureur de bois or a voyageur because i would be away from my family alot of the time.
