Travel Assignment #1: Early Colonial Life

Dear Mr.Peabody
in my travels so far i have found out that the reason the kings(monarch) sent people to the new world was so they could get all of the raw materials and then send them back to the mother land so that they could make it into finished materials and then sell it back to the colonists and over time more people got to the new world the more furniture they needed so they had to get more raw materials  so they could make said furniture and some kings told some of the people to capture slaves to do the work for them

Thirteen colonies: Population 15,000 Year 1700
                                             65,00           1760
All of the thirteen colonies were mostly made up of Britain, Germany, Sweden and Holland in some cases the colonists came to north america only to practice there version of Protestantism. in thirteen colonies each colony had its own government Britain controlled these governments by directly appointing their governors or by creating chartered companies or groups of land holders that then choose governors elected assemblies also played a role in most governments of thirteen colonies. the thirteen colonies used land to produce agricultural products for Britain and Britain's colonies in the Caribbean, and for themselves including wheat cattle corn tobacco and rice unlike new France did not for partnerships with the first nation but in stead pushed them off there land

New France: Population 15,000 Year 1700
                                      65,000          1760
the colonists in New France were almost all french and catholic. part of what France wanted to do as it built the colony of new France in north america was to convert first nations people s to the catholic faith. France at first established monopolies in the fur trade with the expectation that new France would flourish the fur trade flourished but new France did not they had a few settlers and continued to reply on supplies from France for survival fur trade merchants did not see much reason to change the situation the fur trade didn't require many french settlers to succeed it required partnership between the first nations and the French. the fur trade was the primary economic activity of New France they supplied furs to France especially bever furs used in the manufacture of hats.

Rupert's Land: Population Minimal
Rupert's land was a protestant colony but religion did not play a big role in territory. Rupert's land was the monopoly of the fur trade territory or the Hudson's bay company, granted to the company in 1670 it was the chief officer of the company. it had no elected assembly. the Hudson's bay company did not settle its territory with the colonists. the Hudson's bay company in furs unlike new France it did not develop inland forts or seek partnerships with the first nations peoples. instead it counted on traders coming to their fort. the Hudson's bay company did not settle its territory with the colonists. the company supplied its forts from Britain and it also traded with first nations peoples for food

People made money in the colonies by trading of farming
Thirteen colonies: farming in the Caribbean wheat cattle(cow) corn tobacco and rice
